There's Something About Core Sound, Isn't There?

On the eve of our 25th anniversary, Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center is reflecting on this place and celebrating our people. Over the course of the next year, they will be sharing vignettes that highlight the life and heritage of Core Sound, what binds us to this place and what attracts hundreds of thousands of travelers to Down East every year.

Here are the vignettes.

Core Sound CHRISTMAS STORE to open November 5th

Core Sound will be opening its CORE SOUND CHRISTMAS STORE in Morehead Plaza on November 5th with our annual Core Sound Crabpot Tree 20% Off Sale (ONE day only, cash and carry) at 10 am.  Thanks to the owners and managers of Morehead Plaza Shopping Center we will operate a Christmas Store at this location through mid-December on Friday and Saturday each week. Crabpot trees, Christmas crafts, decoys, books, museum shirts, gifts, framed prints and North Carolina treats will be on sale, giving shoppers a convenient glimpse into all the beautiful offerings found in our Museum Store at Harkers Island.

Bill and Margie Ward will lead this volunteer crew so if you can help, please let us know.  There’s lots of work to do – as always – and we will be depending on our former Corner Store folks to help lead the way. Make plans to help with setup, SHOP and run the Store!  (When Bill calls, just say “yes!”)

And add this to your Christmas shopping plans too --- Core Sound’s Museum Store will celebrate its ANNUAL CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE on November 19th with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, the return of Santa’s Workshop for kids (ages 4-10) and a PREVIEW of our Waterfowl Weekend merchandise.  Shop early!
